KVM has matured rapidly in recent years, and today offers an enterprise-class, open virtualization alternative on IBM System x, BlandCenter, and other x86 servers. With top performance benchmarks, superior scalability and leading security capabilities, KVM offers both Linux and Windows customers flexibility and choice, as well as lower costs. This keynote presentation will discuss IBM's open virtualization strategy, with examples of KVM deployments directly on-site with clients and via the IBM SmartCloud service offering. The discussion will also consider what makes a hypervisor ready for prime-time, and how KVM and its ecosystem can deliver performance, high quality of service, and virtualization management.

Abstract: 

This session will give an overview of the integration capabilities of SOA-P and walk through a customer scenario.

A customer wanted to get a highly dynamic enterprise service bus architecture. Key requirement was to be able to combine different transformers, incoming services and outgoing services to a new service without (re-) deployment of existing systems.

After self evaluating the JBoss SOA Platform they decided that this product would not meet their needs. They already started to develop an own ESB based on non-standards when RH Consulting was able to present an architecture based on SOA-P and BRMS to meet all requirements.

This presentation will guide through the requirements and the resulting architecture presented and implemented at the customer.

Abstract: 

Accenture and KLM teamed together to define and realize a new OSS-based version of the existing KLM WebFarm platform, to ensure continuity for business critical web applications, and to be able meet new business requirements in a flexible manner.

KLM and Accenture are taking the advantage of open source software to reduce costs for hardware, operating systems , middleware and business applications. The new platform, aligned with the group strategy to leverage RHEL based platforms on cost-effective commodity hardware, leverages more open source software technologies on both the operating system level (LINUX) and the application server level (JBOSS). Addtionally, KLM uses a number of open source business application platforms, including portals and document management systems.
