Abstract:

The JBoss Operations Network management platform delivers centralized systems management for JBoss Enterprise Middleware. From the JBoss Operations Network console, users can inventory resources and manage configurations from the operating system to applications.
JBoss ON allows users to coordinate the many stages of the application lifecycle and expose a cohesive view of their middleware components through complex environments.
Administrators can effectively manage configuration and rollout of new applications across complex environments with a single, integrated tool.
This workshop will allows users to play with the provisioning mechanism provided by JON, accomplished through uploaded packages called bundles.

Hands on JBoss SOA - Data Services

Schedule:
2011-06-07 09:30 - 12:50
Abstract:

Most organizations have many stores of information assets in disparate locations. While tremendously valuable, implementing new applications that leverage this information can be time-consuming and costly. The solution to these challenges is data virtualization via the JBoss Enterprise Data Services Platform (EDSP). Data virtualization lets you bring together and integrate data from multiple, disparate, and even distributed sources and makes the data appear as if it's available in a single source.

JBoss Enterprise Data Services Platform is a powerful set of tools and runtime components that makes it easy for your applications and business processes to integrate and use data from many data sources.

This hands-on session will give you an opportunity to learn how to tackle your data integration issues using the Enterprise Data Services Platform. You will learn how a model-driven approach can speed up your development time and how you can cost-effectively expose your distributed and heterogeneous existing data assets as data services. This lab will present a complete overview of the Enterprise Data Services Platform product suite and an opportunity for hands-on use of the components to help you creating virtual views of data to satisfy all the different requirements of your consuming applications or services.

We kindly ask you to bring your own laptop with you. All labs will run in a virtualized (VDI) environment and will be accessible from your browser. Let us know, if you won't have a laptop there.

To cover each of these areas in depth is beyond the scope of this workshop. Instead, this workshop is designed to give you an overview of the SOA Platform as well as some experience using JBoss Developer Studio to create and deploy SOA-P applications.
