Aim of the project was the implementation of a RHEV environment which is capable to run about 300 virtual machines, distributed on 2 datacenter sites to survive a complete loss of one datacenter (high availability).
The virtual machines must be able to host RHEL 5, RHEL 6, SuSE10 and Windows 2003/2008 operating systems.
A further demand of the customer was to convert the existing machines into RHEV (p2v) and get easy administration by using Red Hat Network Satellite Server.
Key Parameters:
- Solution consists of 30 physical HP DL 380 G7 servers as hypervisors.
- Management Servers running Red Hat Cluster Suite: 2 FSC RX600 machines for the infrastructure services (Red Hat Satellite, DNS, LDAP, RHEV-Manager)
- Solution is distributed/separated on 2 data centers to grant highest availability
