We gave it a first try last year and we give it another this year. We sent IBM some bold specs and they agreed to sponsor the hardware. The server rack will be shown live in the exhibition area.
The server hardware for the labs will be quite remarkable. IBM will be sponsoring servers and storage that will allow to run 80 virtualized server environments in a RHEV/VDI installation. Workplaces will be equipped with Igel thin client hardware.
The whole setup will be managed by RHEV-M and the Igel client manager.
This time the servers will be set up at IBM in Greenock. Robert Dickson will help us again. Jan Wildeboer, Rhys and Sam already set up the virtual images and tested the clients.
I'm sure it'll be fun to see that setup working.
See you in Dublin.
Werner
